Dr Ian Gimsey
BSc, PhD, MRSC, CChem

Dr. Grimsey has been a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the University of Bradford since 2003. Between 1989 and 1992 he was at the British Petroleum Research Centre (Sunbury) working on the development of scale inhibitors for low pH applications. He then moved to the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Sheffield to study the use of in-line particle size analysers for crystal growth. At Bradford, Dr Grimsey was centrally involved in the development of scale-up rules for high speed batch mixer granulators via the rheology of the wet mass using the Mixer Torque Rheometer (MTR). He has also used the MTR for the optimisation of a wet granulation formulation. He also has experience in particle formation, crystal engineering and particle surface analysis.
